Heart Smiles

 This is Teppo and MJ.

They are happy. They have fun together. They are getting married.

They got engaged a few weeks ago. The wedding was going to be in August but things changed and now it is in April.  They needed photos for invitations ASAP, so we spent the afternoon on Saturday walking around Cambridge with my camera.

MJ has camera phobia like I used to (and sometimes still do).  I told her not to worry or focus on the camera and just try to have fun.  I don't approach people (in this case engagement) photos as a glamour session - but rather as a means to announce your good news and show the world how much you enjoy being together.

It's not about "see how beautiful I am" (and MJ is beautiful); it's about "see how happy I am."  Real happiness has a beauty all it's own.

I think they did a wonderful job.

Smiles abound.

Let it Snow!

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
(Ha! Understatement of the century.)

But the fire is so delightful,
(Well, the electric blanket is anyway.)

And since we've no place to go,
(Speak for yourself, I still have to commute to the hospital in this...)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
(If it's going to be cold, there might as well be a little snow...right?)

Oh it doesn't show signs of stopping,
(I'm secretly hoping we break the record...this is from last Thursday - we're actually at 70.5" now.)

And I've brought some corn for popping,
(Mmmmm, popcorn. I think I have some Jiffypop in the cupboard...)

The lights are turned way down low,
(& the thermostat too - these old radiators cost a fortune to heat up.)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
(Isn't it pretty! I love the fresh new white layers.)

Unfortunately, my camera's battery charger quit working a while ago, and thus so has my camera.
Some of these photos were borrowed from others, and you can find a lot more photos of the snow online:

Happy snow days everyone!
